Super Light Weight & Compact Heatpipe CPU Cooler
With 92mm fan attached on the Katana CPU Cooler, it overall weight is ONLY 300g! This cooler is ideal for both users seeking for an upgrade for their current CPU or for systems builder to integrate into their PC systems to build a silent PC systems.
Universal Socket Compatibility
Katana CPU Cooler is compatible for socket 370/462/478/754/939/940 & the new LGA775. All in one solution for your PC system!
Low-Noise 92mm Fan
Supplied 92mm fan rotates at only 2000rpm providing only 25dBA of noise, this cooler is an ideal solution for low-noise PC systems.
Cooling the Mainboard Components
With the unique angle (70 degree) construction of the Katana CPU Cooler, the cooler can also cool the components on the mainboard to prolong its life and keep your PC system stable (subject to fan mounting & airflow direction).
4-Way Mountable Design to Optimize the Cooling
With the special mounting clips provided with Katana CPU Cooler, users are able to mount this cooler in the best position based on the airflow and set-ups inside the PC case. (For socket 370/462, limited to 2-way mountable design)
Value for Money Low-Noise & High-Performance CPU Cooler
Scythe’s engineering team has sought the best balance for value, silence and performance to design the Katana CPU Cooler. All of our effort and knowledge is put into this cooler to introduce the best value CPU cooler for all the features mentioned above!

ANANDTECH |
A
Once you progress beyond the basic heatsink with a fan on top, the big thing in air cooling is the tower cooler. A combination of heatpipes, aluminum cooling fins, and large, quiet low-rpm fans, the tower coolers are very effective. This was clearly demonstrated in the recent AnandTech review of the Tuniq Tower.
However, the added efficiency is not without a few compromises. Most of the effective tower coolers are extremely large, with many barely fitting in a standard case. Prices are also at the upper end of the air cooling spectrum, although $50 to $80 for an effective tower cooler must still be considered a bargain compared to other computer components. The big towers are also normally heavy, exceeding manufacturers' maximum recommendations for heatsink weight. ...... |

| The Scythe Katana heatsink is a well-built and well-designed cooler. Heatpipe coolers may be the current trend but they are that for good reasons. It's not hard to see why! ...... |

Insanetek |
| Scythe has released many high end coolers lately. The most impressive heatpipe cooler from Scythe was the Ninja, which featured 12 whopping heatpipes that extended from the base. Although we missed our chance to review the huge beast, I have no doubts that the Ninja would be one of the best CPU heatsinks on the market. It certainly received many praising words from all over the world. The release of the Ninja was quickly followed by the Katana. The Katana is a smaller heatpipe based heatsink that uses a smaller fan and less heatpipes. ...... |

| After
building an Intel test bench I knew
it would be a task to find an everyday
heatsink to keep the processor cool.
Everybody knows that the Prescott
chips produces its share of heat,
and it is a job that requires a hefty
heatsink. Shortly after talking to
the people at Scythe, we received
the SCNJ-1000 Ninja heatpipe cooler.
The Ninja boast the ability to cool
without the usage of a fan. Well
we have the products to test this
claim as well as the time. Also in
comparison we do have a spare 120mm
fan to add to the cooler, to see
how well it performs against other
coolers...... |

Silent PC Review |
| Scythe is one of the most prolific heatsink makers on the market. At present, their web site lists no less than ten different coolers from the Scythe brand. These products cover almost every conceivable market niche for heatsinks, from cheap $20 heatsinks to the massive (and expensive) Ninja, which has the potential to cool almost any CPU passively. You have to wonder whether Scythe gives any thought at all to the target market for their products, but you certainly can't argue with the choices they offer. The only downside is knowing which one to pick! ........ |

Tech Age |
| In a constant effort to increase our cooling and overclocks, companies are quick to push out new technologies. CPU Coolers with killer pipes are all the rage now, if you wish to stick to air. We are taking a look at Scythes newest offering, the Katana. This ultra-light cooler offers two heatpipes to help with your cooling, so let's see how good it is! ...... |
