| Although relatively new to the market, Scythe, which first began its United States business operations in 2004, has already introduced a number of products that have been quite popular among PC enthusiasts. To secret to Scythe's success is a pretty simple formula; offer a product with a simple design that offers solid performance. Although many of Scythe's product aren't as flashy as other manufacturers, its high-class coolers are able to compete with leading products from Cooler Master, Thermaltake, and Zalman....... |

As AMD continues to drum the efficiency beat and Intel moves away from its past missteps, a look back at older technology shows one area where overclocking enthusiasts benefited from Intel's ultra-hot Netburst architecture: oversized CPU coolers. Certainly a few largish designs would have trickled into the market eventually to appease the quiet cooling crowd, but horrifically hot Prescott cores and Pentium D processors hastened the development of today's cooling monsters........

| Believe it or not, it has been just over three years since the last review of a Scythe CPU heatsink! Back then, Scythe had some great products in their Heatlane and Kama coolers. Today we actually have three new heatsinks for review. That’s right! We are doing a three way Scythe CPU cooler roundup! If you are not familiar with Scythe, here is a little history from their website: ...... |

| Hot on the heels of the impressive Freezer 7 Pro review (April 7th~ Editors Choice), I today find myself testing an altogether different beast. Whereas the Freezer 7 Pro was designed from the outset to be a low cost, moderately sized and quiet CPU cooler, today's review unit is a monster of a heatsink marketed as a high end, no-compromise heavyweight -- did the title give it away? Yes, it's the Scythe Ninja Rev.B!...... |

| The Scythe Ninja Plus Rev. B proved to be quite effective at cooling my AMD Athlon 64 3200+, which is a relatively hot-running processor. I ran 15 minute loops of CPU-stressing software, using each heatsink and each different configuration. First, let’s check out how a stock AMD heatsink/fan cools my CPU....... |

| In the past the Ninja name was used to designate the top-of-the-line Scythe coolers. Then somewhere along the development road the Infinity name rose to the top of the Scythe catalog. In the current Scythe lineup the two coolers are remarkably similar in features, but with slightly different design approaches to the cooling task.

Scythe, one of the leading air-cooling systems designers in the world, have unleashed a new version of one of their best coolers on the unsuspecting but performance hungry multitudes. Introducing the Scythe Ninja Plus B!
Scythe is one of the few companies I know of that have put out a bunch of seriously high performance coolers in a short period of time. With success stories like the Ninja, Mine and the current air champ here at PC, the mighty Infinity, Scythe have some serious airplay with computer enthusiasts, especially those who long for a decent compromise between performance and noise. It might have been tempting for Scythe to have rested on their laurels, but they seem unstoppable in their quest for the best in cooling for any platform. To prove it Scythe have being kind enough to send to us another cooler for review ...... |
